Scott and Libby Glasser - 2018 Tour.
Argentina is the most beautiful country and the longer we were there the more we fell in love with it. By seeing it with Alex you are taken places little known to the average tourist, always with our safety in mind.
Alex has a romance with Argentina and his excitement for life there has not waned in the 18, or so, years he has been going back!
With Alex’s Argentine friends and joint organizers Allan and Cynthia, we were lucky enough to base ourselves on Allan’s family farm 500 klm south of BA for four days and toured around from there.
From his knowledge of Argentina’s tumultuous history, to the flora and fauna of the country, to beautiful little cafes around BA, Alex was ‘on point’. We left him to co-ordinate, suggest endless possibilities, improvise and lead us wherever he thought we may want to go, always with informative narrative!
We definitely recommend this trip with Alex, you will not be disappointed!
Kerry and MC Glasser - 2018 Tour
From the moment we met at the Brisbane airport, till we left Argentina we were , ENTERTAINED, ORGANIZED, and EDUCATED on all things Argentina.
“Trust Me” he said and trust him we did.
His passion for Argentina, its history and its people really shone through.
Accommodation was excellent , Food and Beverages were way too often and plentiful .( waist measurements changed daily.)
While our focus was Polo and Farming, which we thoroughly enjoyed, we would not hesitate to go anywhere in Argentina, with Alex Makim.

I have known Alex Makim for some 15 years both in Australia and in Argentina and understand his great love of travelling and all that is Argentina.
I have been lucky enough to have traveled all over Uruguay and from top to bottom of Argentina and many adventures along the way with Alex .
I could not think of a better person to take a tour with then Alex in Argentina ,his knowledge of its history, people ,geography, politics, agriculture and of course polo and of course his grasp of the Spanish language and his great sense of fun and great contacts make it a must if you want to get the very best out of your trip to Argentina.
I know you will return to Australia with many wonderful memories but also want to return for more to this great country of Argentina.

I have traveled extensively with Alex Makim traveling and camping in the Northern Territory of Australia for intensive property inspections in Uruguay and Widely in Argentina wherever he is his grasp of local knowledge is outstanding and he is very well read and can speak of with most subjects (so much so that occasionally I'd wish he'd be quiet) until I want to ask him a question which inverrably he can answer. His knowledge of South America and obvious love of the culture and his far reaching and valuable context makes him a special person to travel with any tour he is apart of would be very memorable and enjoyable.

The trip was just so much fun from the time I met everyone at the airport in New Zealand to when we returned, and as I was the lone traveller, not knowing anyone, I felt right at home with the group Alex had put together. Alex was so knowledgeable about Argentina and Uruguay, local knowledge, history, food, and his ability to speak Spanish, made everything we did so easy! Our focus was the Argentine polo open, Alex guided us thru every day and seemed to know all the players, their families and best places to eat after the matches. Alex picked great hotels and local restaurants in BA and especially on our travels thru the country side. Even a trip to the largest cattle sale yards, I found the whole experience fascinating and just loved it. Allan Cameron and Alex drove us all down to Necochea for a wonderful stay on Allans family estancia. “Grigadale”. With a few funny car stories, never to be repeated. Warm hospitality by Allan and his family, and fantastic food prepared by Mercedes, she even did our laundry. As agriculture is their main business, it was so interesting discussing their farming practices compared to Australia. Even a ferry trip to Uruguay and an overnight stay, not planned was just the best fun, especially with the Brazil football team singing and dancing all the way. A trip so full of wonderful memories and six months later we are all still in contact with each other. Thank you Alex, will definitely travel with you again.

Of interest to all inclined to source a new adventure; back in November 2017 I embarked on a run to Argentina with a head sherang called Alex Makim - a man I’ve known as a friend for most of a lifetime, a sportsman, horseman, polo player, adept at Spanish verse, swashbuckling larrikin sort of a bloke. I had an action packed nearly three weeks of travelling part of southern Argentina - which is plurry to large a country to see all the south in one three-week block, however, we seven head of Aussies squeezed in a fair few happening. From airport arrival; herded into private transport, hotels, amber averages, tango dancers, dinners, lots of superb beef, vino of choice, odd liquor shot (of choice of course) by day Argi Open Polo, of course, 500km south to an estancia for a few days absorbing superb country on the Pampas and Argentine farming practices. All the while being entertained by Alexes knowledge. This trip being his almost full score of travels to the country that somewhat challenges his love of his homeland of Australia. The guy is absorbed by Argentina and is only too happy to share his enchantment for it with others. A bloke could go on, however I was hosted and herded about by Alex to whatever might be of interest or fun all of the time. Alex Makim is a lot more than a guide. He was Head Sherang of the whole outfit. Go travel with Alex.

In November 2017 my wife and I joined Alex Makim on a Polo and Estancia tour of Argentina
We found Alex with his fluent Spanish language skills a very affable and informative tour leader.
His many visits over several years and his appetite for Argentine history allow Alex to be a source of information which would be hard to equal in an Australian tour guide in Argentina
Alex has travelled widely throughout Argentina and Chile and has absorbed a huge amount of local culture and history
Alex’s tour itinerary took us to places most foreign tourists would never see.
He is extremely affable and easy going. He is very flexible and catering to individual tastes and interests.
He deals with issues as they arise which is to be expected when travelling in South America.
